About the winery
The winemaking history of both families dates back to the year 1677 when the great-great-great-grandfather of great-grandma Grančič was born. In 1921 she married Ján Grančič, thus connecting two almost insignificant but hard working families. Today, the Grančičs are already the eighth generation stemming from this tradition. The ancestors of Bohumil Dubovský (Fialová family) had a vineyard over the winemaking town of Svätý Júr almost one hectare in size already in the 19th century.READ_MORE
Dubovský and Grančič have known each other since childhood but wine only connected them at a higher age. In 2003 they decided to start working their first vineyards together and try producing a few hundred liters of wine. The wine worked out well - Müller Thurgau even became the Champion of the Svätý Jur Wine Exhbition, so they increased their production next year.
In 2005 they bottled their first wine under the Dubovský & Grančič label. They focus all of their efforts on developing their vineyards. So far they have succeeded in obtaining almost 12 hectares of their own or leased vineyards in Svätý Jur. Long-standing friendship with Štefanom Šimonko from the village of Svodína led into almost familial cooperation. Štefan grows grapes for them in Svodín on 4 hectares of vineyards.
